| Description: "Fire and Romance" - Roberto Diaz, viola Works by Strauss, Penderecki, Bruch, and Stravinsky During its 1987-88 season, the FSO gave the local premiere of the Viola Concerto of Krzysztof Penderecki, one of the titans of modern music. To give the local premiere of the same work in a version for soloist with string orchestra plus percission and celesta, we present Roberto Diaz, principal of the Philadelphia Orchestra and President of the Curtis Institute of Music. |
